Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

I have been using polymer clay for about twelve years. I discovered it after trying other types of oven-hardening clay.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

My inspirations are the classic science fiction and space artists.
I think of my works as science fiction paintings in a 3D form.
What is your specialty?

I make miniature dioramas, little chunks of alien worlds
with their lifeforms ond ecology. I combine the clay with
various natural materials to achieve the look of alien plantss
and animals.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

Polymer clay takes detail beautifully, can be easily
painted with acrylic paints, adheres to the wood I
use as bases for my pieces, and does not shrink in baking.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

I have won many awards at science fiction art shows, includingg
two best 3D awards at World Science Fiction Conventions.
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
organization?

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

I use sculpey.
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your
training?

I have been a science fiction painter for twenty-five years,,
and doing these 3D pieces is a tremendous process of
discovery, a feeling of reality that painting just does not have.
