I discovered polymer clay in an issue of Fantasy Modeling Magazine about 12 years ago.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?
Fantasy film maker and friend Ray Harryhausen was my main inspiration but I find inspiration in most every piece of sculpture I see.
What is your specialty?
Miniatures in polymer clay, wildlife and fantasy subjects mostly but I dabble a bit in everything to try and keep myself well rounded.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?
The ability to bake and finish the piece.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?
None as of yet.
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?
I've won awards at some of the larger figure kit shows for my original pieces.
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?
Being able to sculpt full time.
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?
practice makes perfect..well maybe not perfect..but it helps..don't give up...you may just surprise yourself...
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?
Super Sculpey..I've learned most of it's quirks after ten years. Akin to sculpting in bubble gum.
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your
training?Leave Your Interview!
I am pretty much self taught but I do read anything and everything I can find on polymer sculpting, armature construction, finishing, etc. We're never too old to learn something new.
