Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

I bought some for my son as a Christmas present and I enjoyed
it so much I had to go buy some for myself.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

I have been making free form and cane beads for about 8
months without ever seeing any other artists work. I just happened up on
this site recently and really enjoy seeing what other artists are doing
with polymer clay.
What is your specialty?

I make necklaces and earrings with cane beads and free form
beads. Each piece I do is one of a kind. I don't duplicate any of them.
So far, I have gotten a great response to them. I am a wildlife artist and
I really enjoy using the polymer clay as away of relaxing.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

I like the feel of it. It is mistake proof... if the cane
doesn't turn out like I had hoped - no problem, I turn them into a marbled
bead. I really enjoy wearing it and I get many compliments on the work I
have done.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

No
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I hope to incorporate ploymer jewely into the art shows I
have been doing. I have been experimenting with bug and animal cane
earrings, so far so good!
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

I consider myself still a beginner of sorts. I think
practice and don't be afraid to experiment is good advice.
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
organization?

I am a member of the Lansing Art Guild
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

I like Sculpey III because it is smooth and not crumbly. It
is easier for me to find at the local craft stores.
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your
training?

I have been married for 12 years to a very supportive husband
and I have a 9 year old son. I am a hotel manager and in my "spare time" I
volunteer at the elementary school teaching art classes. ( they have NO
art teacher ) I am an award winning wildlife artist and participate in
gallery shows and competitions.
