Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?
I discovered polymer clay 5 years ago during a trip to England. As soon as I tried it I was totally hooked!
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?
Well, I wouldn't know where to start, there are so many artists that I admire, each for different reasons, and a lot them keep inspiring me everyday.
What is your specialty?
I like to try everything but I mainly make jewelry, I specially like to work with textures and paint effects on clay.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?
I love polymer clay because of its versatility. It is a medium that offers an inmense freedom, and lets you experiment and therefore learn all the time.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?
I would like to work with polymer clay full time, and make a living of it! I'd love to develop new techniques or approaches here in my country. I hope that in five years from now the medium will be more mature in Spain, and our clay community much bigger! This is what we are working for.
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?
Yes, experiment, experiment, experiment! Learn form the masters, take classes whenever you have the chance, share your entusiasm with other clayers and, step by step, develop your own style.
But always: don't be afraid of trying and experiment with the material!
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
Yes, in fact, we have just created the spanish polymer clay guild (Arcilla Polimérica de España).
I am also member of the British Polymer Clay Guild and Precious Metal Clay Guild.
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?
It really depends on the project, but my favourute brands are Premo, Fimo Classic and Kato.
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?Leave Your Interview!
I live with my husband, who is always helping me with all the crazy projects I am involved! So, he is now into polymer clay too. "Officially" I am advertising and PR manager, this is what I studied at University, but I have always loved everything related to art. I love painting and making all kind of crafts and I always need to be doing something. I consider myself a very creative person, which, in my opinion is a very happy illness!!! :)
